As awards season enters the home stretch, makeup and hair designer Donald Mowat is busier than ever after receiving his first-ever Oscar nomination for his work on “Dune.”

After a trip back Inside The Film Room to talk through his career, “Dune,” and what’s next, it sounds like Mowat’s schedule is about to get even busier.

Mowat was able to confirm exclusively to Inside The Film Room that he will be returning to Arrakis this summer and reuniting with Denis Villeneuve and Co. once more as the head of hair and makeup design for “Dune: Part Two.”

In addition to that exciting news, Mowat shared plenty of details behind his creative process on creating Stellan Skarsgård’s Baron Harkonnen, visually distinguishing between the great factions of Dune, and how he strives to balance realism with “movie magic when it comes to wounds and blood.
