First Look: ‘The Haunting of Bly Manor’ reveals chilling new trailer
Spooky szn is nearly upon us, and with it comes a return to the world of Mike Flanagan’s “The Haunting” anthology series.
The second installment, “The Haunting of Bly Manor,” will hit Netflix October 9, and the show revealed its first trailer Monday.
Inspired by the illustrious works of Henry James, the new season will be loosely based on James’ 1898 horror novella, “The Turn of the Screw.” So far, specific plot points for the season have been kept under wraps, but we know Flanagan considers it to be a “gothic romance ghost story.” The show’s social media platforms have been dropping hints recently, included a newspaper ad for a live-in nanny, as well as a heavy amount of water.
The season will feature the return of many of the breakout stars from “The Haunting of Hill House,” with Victoria Pedretti in a leading role as Dani, “a governess who takes care of two very unusual children.” Oliver Jackson-Cohenwill return to play Peter, “a charming fellow,” and Henry Thomas and Kate Siegel will return in undisclosed roles.
Netflix also released first look images at the new season, which can be seen in the gallery below.
