Trailer: First look at Spike Lee’s “Da 5 Bloods”

After Spike Lee announced his upcoming project will hit Netflix on June 12, the streaming service unveiled the first trailer for “Da 5 Bloods.”

According to Netflix, “Da 5 Bloods” tells “the story of four African American Vets — Paul (Delroy Lindo), Otis (Clarke Peters), Eddie (Norm Lewis), and Melvin (Isiah Whitlock, Jr.) — who return to Vietnam. Searching for the remains of their fallen Squad Leader (Chadwick Boseman) and the promise of buried treasure, our heroes, joined by Paul’s concerned son (Jonathan Majors), battle forces of Man and Nature — while confronted by the lasting ravages of The Immorality of The Vietnam War.”

“Da 5 Bloods” makes Lee the latest high-profile director to partner with the streaming giant, joining legendary filmmakers like Martin Scorsese, Alfonso Cuarón and Noah Baumbach. In addition to Lee’s joint, Netflix will also add projects from David Fincher and Ron Howard later this year.

“Da 5 Bloods” debuts on Netflix June 12, 2020.
