‘Extraction’ Trailer: Chris Hemsworth, Russo Bros team for explosive Netflix thriller

The doldrums of the delayed movie drought may be coming to an end soon, thanks to Netflix’s upcoming action-adventure thriller, “Extraction.” Summer blockbusters will likely take a different form this year, and it looks like we’ll get an early taste with this one that looks like “Logan” meets “Sicario: Day of the Soldado.”
Tyler Rake (Chris Hemsworth) is a fearless black market mercenary with nothing left to lose when his skills are solicited to rescue the kidnapped son of an imprisoned international crime lord. But in the murky underworld of weapons dealers and drug traffickers, an already deadly mission approaches the impossible, forever altering the lives of Rake and the boy.

The film reunites Hemsworth with producers Joe and Anthony Russo, the visionary directors behind some of Marvel’s mega-blockbusters like “Avengers: Infinity War,” “Avengers: Endgame” and “Captain America: The Winter Soldier.” Joe Russo also penned the script, which is based on the graphic novel “Ciudad,” written by Ande Parks and the Russo Bros. Renowned stunt coordinator Sam Hargrave (“Endgame,” “Infinity War,” “Deadpool 2”) is set to make his directorial debut.
