Inside The Film Room is headed back to Film Fest 919

The second annual Film Fest 919 will kick off in Chapel Hill, N.C. at Silverspot Cinemas on Wednesday, and Inside The Film Room will be reporting from the red carpet all week long.
After a successful inaugural year in 2018 that featured Academy Award nominees “Roma,” “The Favourite” and eventually Best Picture winner “Green Book,” Film Fest 919 is back with another full slate of Oscar contenders.
The festival will kick things off Wednesday evening with a screening of Noah Baumbach’s “Marriage Story,” starring Adam Driver and Scarlett Johansson. The coveted closing night slot on Sunday evening will be held by Taika Waititi’s World War II fantasy “Jojo Rabbit,” the winner of the Audience Award at the Toronto International Film Festival.

Special guests throughout the week will include “Marriage Story” actress Martha Kelly, Ray Williams, the man responsible for discovering Elton John, and three-time Academy Award-nominated screenwriter Anthony McCarten (“Darkest Hour,” “The Theory of Everything”), who will receive the festival’s first-ever Distinguished Screenwriter Award for his work on this year’s “The Two Popes.”
The festival will also feature a screenwriting panel on Saturday moderated by Daniel Wallace, author of “Big Fish.” The panel will include writer/director and Emmy nominee, Lynn Roth, Academy Award-nominated writer Chris Bergoch, and Rashaad Ernesto Green.
Inside The Film Room writers Zach Goins and David Sobczak will be covering a number of films, including:
