Adjusting to your first semester away from home as told by ‘The Office’
The following was taken from my article for The Daily Tar Heel.
Fall Break is upon us, and you know what that means. Most everyone will be heading home for some much-needed relaxation, home cooking and quality cuddles with their dogs. For many first-years, this will be the first trip home since moving into college.
With such a monumental event coming up, it’s only right for us to look back on the class of 2020’s first taste of college, and there’s only one way to truly analyze it: through GIFs from “The Office.”
When your mom and dad leave you all alone:
Trying to blend in at your first frat party:
Waking up knowing you have to walk uphill from South Campus:
When you see a dog on campus:
When your friends put you on their Snapchat stories:
The first time class is canceled… and every single time after that, TBH:
Walking through the Pit when every organization and their brother is advertising:
Your friends when they’re trying to convince you to go out:
When you try to go to office hours the week of an exam:
When you wake up too late to eat before class:
When you’ve been saving your laundry for mom:
Just enjoy it while you can, soon this will be you:
